A Little sunshine after a sad day!

Well after Monday and the first processing of one of the rabbits Cali gave us some new life on Tuesday morning and delivered 5 nice small kits and then this morning Champ gave us 2 nice big kits. Below are some pictures of the new arrivals.
These are Cali's 5 little ones in her nest the day they were born.

Here is Cali the new mom.

Rabbit Processing

Well today Ryan and I processed a rabbit and I will not most likely never be doing that ever again....I hated it. I will post pictures and videos later once I calm down.

Beginning post

We have had animals since April of 2013 and I just thought to finally put things in a blog for others to see how and what we do here to help with out self sustainability.
As of the beginning of October we have 27 rabbits, 4 guinea hens, and 21 chickens. We have processed 10 chickens and have 9 of them in the freezer. Jessie and Ryan processed some of them and I helped with plucking and cutting off some feet.
We plan on processing about 7 of the mature rabbits and we have 10 bunnies that will have to grow before we process them.
